Saudi Arabia to Launch New Television Channel to Showcase Culture and Heritage

Saudi Arabia is set to introduce a new television channel in September that will focus on showcasing the country’s rich culture and heritage. The Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, has signed an agreement with MBC Group Chairman, Walid Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim, to establish and operate this upcoming channel.

The aim of this initiative is to celebrate and promote Saudi culture through a diverse range of programming that will be available 24 hours a day. The channel will be accessible on MBC’s satellite and digital platforms, highlighting the Kingdom’s status as a cultural hub with a global impact. This aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes the importance of preserving the nation’s heritage and showcasing its contributions to civilization.

The channel seeks to provide a modern and dynamic portrayal of Saudi culture, appealing to both intellectuals and the general public. It will cover various aspects such as arts, literature, heritage, poetry, theater, cinema, design, fashion, and culinary arts. By blending tradition and innovation, the channel will cater to the evolving tastes and interests of both local and international audiences.

In addition to broadcasting, the initiative will extend to digital platforms, offering videos, articles, podcasts, and documentaries that cater to the preferences of the younger generation. The channel also aims to support local talent and highlight prominent figures within Saudi Arabia to enhance the cultural scene, foster national pride, and elevate Saudi Arabia’s global reputation.

The launch of this cultural channel is a response to the growing worldwide interest in Saudi culture and heritage. It represents a significant step forward in presenting the vibrant and diverse cultural landscape of the Kingdom. The channel’s debut is highly anticipated as it aspires to become a prominent medium for nurturing cross-cultural understanding and appreciation, fostering dialogue, and strengthening cultural ties with the global community.
