Now Telecom Partners with Celona to Deliver Private 5G Solutions in the Philippines

Internet service provider Now Telecom has signed a deal with California-based business networking company Celona to offer next generation private wireless 5G solutions to enterprises in the Philippines.

Now Telecom, through its parent company, will collaborate with Celona to enhance its broadband coverage by implementing standalone private wireless networks for businesses. Utilizing Celona’s portfolio of indoor and outdoor 5G NR products, which were launched earlier this year, Now Telecom aims to provide a comprehensive private wireless managed service offering.

In addition to utilizing Celona’s products, Now Telecom will introduce Celona’s products and services to its clients in the Philippines. The partnership will primarily target key industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, logistics, and transportation ports, helping these sectors automate business processes, increase productivity, and streamline operations.

Now Telecom President and CEO Henry Andrews Abes emphasized that the Philippines represents a significant opportunity for delivering innovative private wireless solutions. He believes that Celona, with its enterprise-focused private wireless network, is the ideal partner to capitalize on this untapped market.

Celona co-founder and CEO Rajeev Shah expressed confidence in their market-leading products and technology, stating they will contribute significantly to modernizing the operational efficiency and productivity of Now Telecom’s enterprise customers within the Philippine market.

Now Telecom, with support from the US Trade and Development Agency, plans to establish a prominent presence in the telecommunications industry in the Philippines. The company aims to develop a standalone 5G network infrastructure, with the assistance of Bell Labs Consulting (represented by Nokia America) as the prime contractor for deployment.

Having previously faced sanctions for misleading investors by claiming to be the fourth major telco player, Now Telecom is committing at least PHP7.8 billion (US8.9 million) over the next decade to maintain competition in the telecommunications sector.
