Devastation in Northern Gaza Strip: Before and After Israeli Airstrikes

The destruction caused by Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza is evident in satellite images taken before and after the attacks. Following the raids conducted by Hamas militants on October 7, the Israeli airstrikes have left a trail of devastation in the region.

Satellite images from Maxar Technologies captured the extent of the damage. The Izbat Beit Hanoun neighborhood, once filled with four- and five-story buildings, now stands in various states of collapse. Some buildings have huge chunks missing, while others are broken in half. Two large complexes now lie in piles of rubble.

The Al Karameh neighborhood also bears the marks of destruction, with a wide-scale pattern resembling ash. The tightly packed streets of Beit Hanoun appear obliterated, with only one rare white structure standing out in the midst of the grey wasteland.

The Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have been ongoing, with thousands of attacks taking place since the beginning of the war. The conflict began after a cross-border raid that resulted in the deaths of 1,400 people in Israel and the kidnapping of over 200 others. According to Palestinian health officials, more than 7,000 people in Gaza have been killed since the fighting began.

As the airstrikes continue relentlessly, the full extent of the damage inflicted is yet to be determined. However, the satellite photos offer a glimpsed into the devastation, particularly in the severely affected northern Gaza Strip.
