Bharti Airtel Chairman Unveils Satellite Communication Technology at India Mobile Congress

Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Enterprises and founder of Bharti Airtel, announced a significant technological breakthrough for India during his address at the 7th edition of the India Mobile Congress. He revealed that satellite communication technology is now available to serve every part of the country and beyond.

Mittal praised the collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), acknowledging their support in launching 72 satellites aboard two GSLV Mk 3 rockets last year. He also introduced the groundbreaking OneWeb constellation, in which Bharti holds the largest stake, that will provide connectivity not only to India but also to the rest of the world.

Starting next month, India will witness a new era of connectivity, as Mittal announced the establishment of a satellite ground station in Mehsana, Gujarat. This groundbreaking development in satellite communication will bridge the digital divide in India, connecting even the most isolated regions and facilitating development.

Mittal emphasized the role of India’s digital infrastructure in accelerating the global economy. He mentioned two important pillars for the India Mobile Congress: Digital India and Make in India. He highlighted the impact of India’s digital infrastructure on the world economy and stressed the importance of manufacturing in India.
