The name Pacific Internet Indonesia was changed into the name of Pacific Link in 1999, but still older named is being used by the local community. 'PInter' is an abbreviation from Pacific Internet. Pacific Internet Indonesia (Pinter) offers a wireless internet connection using the technology of linking 2 different and separated points with up to 30 Km distance. The Radio Link/Laser basic idea is almost the same as to the wired-system – this solution replaces cables with radio or laser wave. A specific radio frequencies are basic in this option, i.e. at 2,4 Ghz. Maximum speed that can be achieved is 11Mbps.
