Viasat Secures Contract for In-Flight Entertainment Solutions with Malaysia Airlines

Viasat Inc. (VSAT) has announced that it has secured a prime contract for Ka-band satellite in-flight entertainment (IFE) solutions from Malaysia Airlines. The contract amount has not been disclosed. The IFE services provided by Viasat will aim to offer enhanced Internet capabilities and best-in-class in-flight entertainment options.

As part of the contract, Malaysia Airlines will be using Viasat’s Ka-band IFE solutions in its new Boeing 737-8 fleet. These solutions will enable high-quality, high-speed Internet and video streaming services on passengers’ personal electronic devices, making air travel more digitally accessible and seamless. Passengers will have access to more than 500 on-demand entertainment options and personalized shopping experiences.

It allows aviation clients to reinforce their in-flight connectivity investments, offering smooth web browsing and streaming services.
