Verizon Expands 5G Coverage in Select Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts Communities

Verizon has recently expanded its 5G coverage in select communities in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. The expansion is part of a series of network upgrades aimed at providing enhanced network offerings in these areas.

The 5G Ultra Wideband services are now available in select areas of East Providence, Cranston, Pawtucket, Providence, and North Providence. Using the database at verizon.com/5gbusinessinternet, residents can determine if their household is eligible for coverage. Approximately 86% of households in Providence are now eligible for the coverage.

Verizon has also expanded its lower-tier C-band spectrum services in various Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts communities including Attleboro, Fall River, Narragansett, Newport, Pawtucket, Providence, Warwick, and Woonsocket. The company plans to equip these communities with 5G Ultra Wideband capabilities by the end of 2023.

To support this network expansion, Verizon has made infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of new cell sites and additional fiber optic cables. These upgrades will benefit both mobile and home internet services.

With this expansion, Verizon is striving to provide faster and more reliable 5G connectivity to the communities it serves. The company has plans to continue expanding its 5G coverage in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts throughout the rest of the year.
