The Bourne Select Board Approves Responsibilities of New Internet and Communications Committee

The Bourne Select Board has approved the responsibilities of the town’s newest committee, the Bourne Cable, Internet and Telecommunications Advisory Committee. This committee will be responsible for providing advice to the select board on matters related to cable, internet, telecommunications, and other communication media that affect the Town of Bourne.

Residents who had petitioned for the establishment of this committee were seeking a minor wording change concerning the committee’s involvement in negotiations with potential vendors. However, this request was rejected by the board.

The committee is expected to focus on improving cable and internet access throughout the town of Bourne. It will work closely with board members Anne-Marie Siroonian and Melissa A. Ferretti, as well as other interested town residents, to address this issue.

By establishing this committee, the Bourne Select Board recognizes the importance of having reliable and accessible internet and communications infrastructure in the town. This is particularly crucial in today’s digital age, where connectivity plays a vital role in various aspects of daily life.

Improving internet and communications access can have numerous benefits for the community. It enables residents to stay connected with friends, family, and essential services. It also provides opportunities for online education, remote work, and access to important information and resources.

The formation of this committee demonstrates the town’s commitment to addressing these needs and finding effective solutions. By working closely with residents and considering their input, the committee aims to make informed recommendations to the select board that will positively impact the entire community.

Through this collaborative effort, Bourne residents can look forward to improved internet and communications access, allowing them to thrive and stay connected in today’s digital world.
