Orbit Communications Systems has introduced cybersecurity enhancements for its Gaia100 Earth observation (EO) systems. The company has unveiled NetShroud+, a solution designed to protect ground stations from potential cyber-attacks, ensuring uninterrupted communication with Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.

NetShroud+ shields the systems from attacks, providing a robust defense against unauthorized access attempts and identity theft. By incorporating artificial neural networks and artificial intelligence, NetShroud+ has the ability to detect anomalies and zero-day attacks in real-time, offering advanced protection against a wide range of cyber threats. It also provides protection against ransomware, safeguarding systems from previously unknown vulnerabilities and malicious encryption of data.

The Gaia100 EO antenna system is an advanced tri-band system that tracks Earth Observation satellites at S-, X-, and Ka-band frequencies. Suitable for both LEO and Medium-Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites, the Gaia100 series of terrestrial tracking systems offers a range of antenna sizes from 2.4 to 5.5 meters.

Orbit’s CEO, Daniel Eshchar, emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in the face of evolving threats. He stated that the addition of NetShroud+ makes the Gaia100 system a secure and comprehensive solution, ensuring durability against cyber threats. This enhancement caters to the growing demands of Earth Observation and ground station antenna operators.

With these cybersecurity enhancements, Orbit aims to provide greater safety and integrity to its EO ground station infrastructure, guaranteeing uninterrupted communication with LEO satellites in all possible conditions.
