Introducing LG’s Portable Monitor: The StanbyME Go

LG has developed a new device called the StanbyME Go, which offers a portable TV experience. It is essentially a portable monitor enclosed in a hard shell briefcase. The device features a 27-inch LED touchscreen, a built-in battery, and 20-watt speakers. It also comes with a handle for easy carrying and a stand that allows the screen to be raised, lowered, tilted, and rotated in both portrait and landscape mode. The battery can last up to three hours on a full charge.

This announcement follows LG’s recent unveiling of another innovation, a wireless TV. The StanbyME Go will be priced at ,000 upon its release. The device runs on LG’s webOS software and supports AirPlay 4, screen mirroring with Android and iOS devices, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Users can install their favorite streaming apps directly on the operating system without the need for an additional streaming device. Additionally, the StandbyME Go supports Dolby Vision video and Dolby Atmos surround sound.

David Park, head of HE Product Marketing at LG, stated that the portable monitor allows for a full-scale viewing experience that is travel-friendly. Previously, consumers had to choose between screen size and portability, but now they have the option of a relatively large-screen and portable device for streaming video or music, gaming, or remote work.

The StanbyME Go is currently available for pre-order on LG’s website, with shipments expected to begin later this month. As an incentive, LG is offering a free XBoom 360 Bluetooth speaker for pre-orders placed before August 27th.
