ChatGPT has become a popular productivity tool for many users, especially millennials. However, concerns about its security and trustworthiness have been growing along with its popularity. According to a report by consumer insights firm HundredX, users consider these two factors, along with reliability, as ChatGPT’s biggest weaknesses.

HundredX analyzed user experiences of ChatGPT and compared them to feedback from over 50,000 individuals about more than 70 seasoned productivity tools such as DocuSign, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Google Workspace, Adobe, and Slack.

Despite its weaknesses, ChatGPT received an above-average user satisfaction score. It earned a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 30 out of 100, indicating positive user intent. About 40% of early adopters plan on using the tool more in the next 12 months, suggesting continued growth.

To address concerns about AI, CEO Rob Pace suggests implementing a data cleansing and screening mechanism for applications to remove false content produced by bots. Enhancing reliability scores would be key in building consumer trust.

ChatGPT’s strengths include ease of use, performance, and value, compared to other productivity tools. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has made plugins and APIs available for businesses to incorporate the technology into their models.

However, users have expressed qualms about reliability, security, and trust. ChatGPT received negative sentiment in these areas, with users reporting concerns about plagiarism and cheating. Ensuring the reliability and security of the technology is crucial for building trust.

A study by Cryptomaniaks.com highlighted the growing distrust of AI chatbots like ChatGPT. Searches for “Is ChatGPT safe?” have increased by 614% since its launch in November. The surge in searches emphasizes the need for public education and transparency about AI systems and their potential risks.

The HundredX report indicated that over 35% of users who are likely to continue using and promoting ChatGPT are under 40 years old. Building trust and addressing user feedback will play a significant role in how ChatGPT is perceived and its impact on society.
