Leviton, a company dedicated to providing smart home solutions, has introduced its second-generation Decora Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug-in Switch and a new residential energy management system. The outdoor plug, designed for outdoor use with water and extreme temperature resistance, is the first of its kind to support Matter, the newest smart home connectivity standard.

The smart outdoor plug is perfect for various outdoor devices such as string lights, holiday lights, decorations, music players, fans, or pumps. What sets the Decora Outdoor Plug-in Switch apart is its compatibility with Matter controllers, allowing it to work with various home automation systems like Amazon Echo speakers, Apple HomePod, Google Nest Hub, and Samsung SmartThings Station.

Additional features include a built-in light sensor for automations and compatibility with Leviton’s Anywhere Switch. The Leviton Decora smart Wi-Fi outdoor plug is available for purchase for on Amazon and Home Depot.

Leviton has also expanded its smart home energy management solutions by introducing a whole-home Energy Monitor and second-generation Smart Circuit Breakers. This combination enables users to remotely control circuit breakers, schedule activities based on reduced energy rate periods, and automatically shed non-essential loads using the My Leviton app on their phones.

The My Leviton app serves as a unified control hub for Leviton devices, including the Decora Smart Wi-Fi Lighting line and Evr-Green electric vehicle chargers. Customers with an existing Leviton Load Center can easily install the Whole Home Energy Monitor and replace standard circuit breakers with the new Smart Circuit Breakers. This can be done by homeowners themselves or by certified electricians.
