George Soros Bets Big on Electric Vehicles, Bitcoin, Pharmaceuticals, and Consumer Internet Providers

Billionaire philanthropist George Soros, known for his successful trades, has made interesting bets for the second half of 2023, according to his latest filings. One of his investments is in Rivian Automotive Inc., an electric vehicle maker. While the company had a market cap of over 0 billion in November 2021, it has dropped to under billion. However, Rivian has shown significant growth in its financials, including a revenue increase of over 200% year over year.

Soros also holds a substantial stake in Nio Inc., which accounts for roughly 1.7% of his portfolio. Another notable investment is in MicroStrategy Inc., a company that holds a significant amount of Bitcoin. Soros invested nearly 0 million in MicroStrategy, making it approximately 1.6% of his fund’s portfolio holdings.

The Soros Fund also owns over 3.3 million shares of Horizon Therapeutics, which is currently in the process of being acquired by Amgen Inc. Despite a legal battle to stop the acquisition, the pharmaceutical company remains Soros’ largest single stock holding at 5.28%.

Additionally, Soros has invested in Liberty Broadband Corp., the parent company of Charter Communications Inc. Despite the stock’s poor performance, Soros Fund owns 1.4 million shares, representing 1.7% of the portfolio’s holdings.

These investments indicate Soros’ interest in the electric vehicle industry, cryptocurrencies, pharmaceuticals, and consumer internet providers. However, it is worth noting that Soros’ investments are subject to market fluctuations and should not be considered as investment advice.
