Gameloft has recently announced significant changes for Disney Dreamlight Valley, a popular mobile game. Originally planned to be free-to-play after its early access phase, the game will now continue as a paid adventure. Players will have the option to purchase premium content and upcoming paid expansions. This decision was made after a thorough analysis of player behavior and investment, as Gameloft aimed to deliver a premium game experience based on the success and learnings from the early access period.

While the game will no longer be free-to-play, Gameloft has assured players that they will continue to provide free content updates such as new characters, realms, clothing, furniture, and surprises. In addition, the company plans to introduce more premium content in the future. This strategy is aimed at maintaining the quality of the game and delivering a premium experience to all players.

Accompanying this announcement is the introduction of the first major paid expansion, titled “A Rift in Time.” This expansion will feature new friends, including Gaston, Rapunzel, and EVE, as well as new biomes and gameplay features. Further details about the expansion will be revealed in a special Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase on 1 November 2023.

For players interested in purchasing the expansion pass, it will be priced at .99 upon release and will include 5,000 Moonstones, the in-game currency used to unlock premium items on the Star Path track.

In addition, Gameloft has shared information on the different release editions for Disney Dreamlight Valley. The base game will be available as a digital release for .99, which includes 8,000 Moonstones. The Cozy Edition, priced at .99, will be a physical release and will come with 14,500 Moonstones, exclusive cosmetic items, and other bonuses. The Gold Edition, a digital release priced at .99, will include 15,000 Moonstones and special avatar costumes and animal companions.

Players who already own the early access version of the game will receive all the cosmetic items from the Gold Edition on launch and an additional 2,500 Moonstones as a bonus for their support.

After over a year in early access, these changes mark an important transition for Disney Dreamlight Valley. Players can look forward to the full release of the game and the exciting content that awaits.
