Five pitchers from the Buffalo Bisons collaborated to secure a 7-1 victory over the Rochester Red Wings at Sahlen Field. Reliever Hayden Juenger started the game with three impressive innings, allowing only two hits. Paul Fry, the third pitcher for the Bisons, earned the win after pitching 1 2/3 innings and striking out three batters. The Buffalo staff recorded a total of nine strikeouts and only two walks throughout the game.

The Bisons took an early lead with two runs in the first inning. Shortstop Ernie Clement hit an RBI double to left field, followed by Addison Barger’s single to right field that drove in Clement. Buffalo extended their lead in the seventh inning with a four-run surge. Rafael Lantigua’s home run, his 10th of the season, added two runs to Buffalo’s score, making it 4-0. Orelvis Martinez’s sacrifice fly and Tanner Morris’ RBI single further contributed to the Bisons’ run total. Tyler Heineman’s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning concluded Buffalo’s scoring for the night.

A crowd of 9,567 spectators attended the game, which was hosted as Hockey Night with the Bisons. The team wore blue and gold jerseys resembling those of the Buffalo Sabres, and Sabres Hall of Famer Danny Gare threw the ceremonial first pitch. Lantigua’s home run was celebrated with the Sabres’ goal horn. Additionally, the Bisons paid tribute to late Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeanneret with a pregame video and displayed his famous goal calls between innings. The team also displayed “RJ” in bright white letters behind home plate as a commemoration.

Ernie Clement, a native of suburban Rochester and a fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, tapped the letters “RJ” with his bat before his first two plate appearances. The Buffalo Bisons will face off against the Rochester Red Wings for the final time this season on Sunday afternoon.
