The purchase order is for the supply, support, and annual maintenance services of Tejas’ Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment as part of BSNL’s pan-India 4G/5G network.

Under the agreement, Tejas Networks will provide equipment for 100,000 sites, with the execution scheduled for the years 2023 and 2024. This purchase order from TCS amounts to approximately 0 million, excluding GST.

Tejas Networks is confident that its advanced baseband and radio products will enable BSNL to deploy a scalable and cost-effective network that meets international standards of performance and quality. According to Dr. Kumar N. Sivarajan, CTO of Tejas Networks, their 4G/5G RAN products have undergone rigorous testing by BSNL over a period of 18 months, demonstrating their reliability and suitability for large-scale commercial deployment.

The deal has received the necessary approvals from Tejas Networks’ shareholders for the fiscal year ending in March 2023. It is important to note that TCS and Tejas Networks are related parties as both are subsidiaries of Tata Sons, the ultimate holding company.

The agreement will come into effect upon the issuance of the purchase order by TCS and will remain valid until the agreed delivery time schedule.

Tejas Networks operates as a manufacturer of wireless and wireline networking products, serving telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utilities, defense, and government entities in more than 75 countries.
