Sam Lake, the creative director at Remedy Entertainment, recently expressed his desire to create a “crazy, huge-budget, dark gothic fantasy” game. In an interview with GQ, Lake was asked if he had any other plans for his career beyond game development. He responded by saying, “Would I ever do anything else? Yeah. I’m still thinking that I will. There will be a time when I retire. It’s just that…this has all been so engaging.”

Lake, who has been with Remedy Entertainment for many years, has worked on popular titles such as Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and Control. He is known for his contribution as the face model for Max Payne in the early titles.

Alan Wake 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the original game, was recently released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via the Epic Games Store. The game has received positive reviews, with praise for its writing, visuals, and terrifying moments. To celebrate the release, Finnish fashion brand Makia has launched a line of high-end Alan Wake 2 merchandise.

Remedy has also announced plans for two paid expansions for Alan Wake 2. Additionally, a New Game Plus mode will be added to the game in a post-launch update, allowing players to keep their unlocked weapons and upgrades. The mode will also introduce a new Nightmare difficulty level and new alternative narrative elements, including Manuscript pages and video content.
