London Broadband Provider CommunityFibre Refreshes Brand with New Logo

London-based broadband ISP CommunityFibre, known for its 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in the city, has unveiled a refreshed brand with an updated logo. The new logo, featuring a predominantly green color scheme, is still based on an optical fibre cable but now incorporates a bold “C” symbol.

According to the company, the new logo design draws inspiration from the WiFi symbol. However, some observers have noted that it reminds them more of the copyright symbol. While the previous logo was deemed acceptable by many, the brand simplification is seen as a positive change.

CommunityFibre’s network currently serves 1 million homes and an additional 212,000 businesses, marking a 75% expansion in their network footprint over the past year. The company has set an ambitious target of reaching 2.2 million UK premises by 2024, which would cover over half of all homes in London, amounting to 3.7 million households.

In addition to their operations in London, CommunityFibre also owns ISP Box Broadband, which operates a full-fiber network in parts of Surrey and West Sussex in England. Box Broadband has set its own goal of connecting more than 250,000 homes with fiber by the end of 2024, separate from CommunityFibre’s broader 2.2 million target.

CommunityFibre’s funding journey has been complex, with initial backing of £90 million from private investors and Government schemes. This was followed by an infusion of £400 million from Warburg Pincus and DTCP, as well as £100 million from a syndicate of existing and new banks. In October 2022, the company secured a new finance facility of £985 million, composed of committed and uncommitted facilities.

Residential customers can currently subscribe to CommunityFibre’s services starting from £20 per month for a symmetric speed of 150Mbps on a 24-month term (with an optional 12-month term available at the same price). The top-tier plan offers speeds of 3Gbps for £49 per month. Additionally, the company offers a social tariff of 20Mbps speeds for £12.50 per month on a 12-month term, which is open to all customers.
