Apple to Unveil M3 Chips at “Scary Fast” Mac Event

Apple is set to host its highly-anticipated “Scary Fast” Mac event tonight, where it is expected to debut three new M3 chips. The event, scheduled to begin at 8 PM ET, is also rumored to bring several other hardware announcements.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will introduce the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips at the event. The standard M3 chip is anticipated to feature an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU similar to its predecessor, the M2, but with enhancements in performance speed and memory.

Gurman reveals that Apple is currently testing different configurations for both the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. The M3 Pro is speculated to offer a 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU, with a higher-end option potentially boasting a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU.

Meanwhile, the M3 Max chip is predicted to include 16 CPU cores and either 32 or 40 GPU cores. These powerful chips aim to further elevate the performance and capabilities of Apple’s devices.

Apple enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the company’s announcements, particularly regarding the new 24-inch iMac and upgraded MacBook Pros. While Gurman previously reported the possibility of their introduction, nothing will be confirmed until the event commences tonight.

Fortunately, the wait is almost over. Stay tuned to witness all the exciting unveilings during Apple’s October event.
