Amazon Music Unlimited Subscriptions Fees to Rise in September

Amazon Music Unlimited has announced an increase in its subscription fees, following in the footsteps of other streaming services. The platform’s individual plan for Prime members will rise from .99 to .99 per month starting September 19. This is still less than what non-Prime members pay, as their fees were increased earlier this year to .99.

In addition to the individual plan, Amazon is also raising the cost of its family plan for Prime subscribers. The price will go up from .99 to .99 per month. Both the individual and family plans offer the option to pay for a full year, and these prices will also increase by to and 9, respectively.

According to an update on Amazon’s website, the increases are aimed at bringing customers more content and features. Amazon offers different tiers for music streaming, including a free, ad-supported service, a paid Unlimited option for non-Prime members, and a cheaper paid Unlimited version for Prime members.

While the free version comes with limitations, such as only being able to shuffle songs, Amazon Music Unlimited provides access to over 100 million tracks. Most of the content is available in lossless HD format, with some tracks offering ultra HD quality.

Amazon’s decision to raise the cost of its Music Unlimited subscription plan follows similar moves by competitors Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music in recent months. This is the third increase in just over a year, and Amazon hopes that these changes do not deter subscribers or push them towards trying out other services.
